An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Is é an Tiarna a bheidh agat mar urra, agus a shaorfaidh do chéimeanna ón ngaiste.

Seanfhocal 3:26

Is lóchrann do mo chosa do bhriathar; is solas do mo chosán é.

Salm 119:105

Seanfhocal 3 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

23 Tabharfaidh tú do bhóthar ort gan bhaol,
agus ní bhainfear tuisle as do chosa.
24 Ní bheidh eagla ort i do shuí duit,
agus beidh do chodladh go sámh i do luí duit.
25 Ná bíodh eagla ort roimh an uafás tobann,
ná roimh ionsaí ó lucht na hurcóide;
26 Óir is é an Tiarna a bheidh agat mar urra,
agus a shaorfaidh do chéimeanna ón ngaiste.
27 A mhic, ná coinnigh an mhaith ón té dar dual í
nuair is féidir leat í a chur i ngníomh.
28 Ná habair le do chomharsa: “Imigh leat agus fill arís;
tabharfaidh mé duit amarach é” nuair atá sé faoi do láimh.
29 Ná beartaigh olc in aghaidh do chomharsan,
agus é ag maireachtáil go sochma i mbéal do dhorais.

Salm 119 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

102 Ní chlaonaim i leataobh ó d’fhoraitheanta;
ós tú a mhúin mé.
103 Is milse do bhriathra le mo charball;
ná mil le mo bhéal.
104 Faighim tuiscint de bharr do phroiceapta;
is gráin liom gach drochshlí.
105 Is lóchrann do mo chosa do bhriathar;
is solas do mo chosán é.
106 Mhionnaigh mé agus bheartaigh mé i m’aigne,
d’fhoraitheanta a choimeád.
107 Tá mé buartha go mór, a Thiarna;
beoigh mé le do bhriathar.
108 Glac le hofrálacha mo bhéil, a Thiarna;
agus múin dom d’fhoraitheanta.

The Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.

Proverbs 3:26

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105

Seanfhocal 3 (English Standard Version)

23 Then you will walk on your way securely,
and your foot will not stumble.
24 If you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror
or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes,
26 for the Lord will be your confidence
and will keep your foot from being caught.
27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it.
28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again,
tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you.
29 Do not plan evil against your neighbor,
who dwells trustingly beside you.

Salm 119 (English Standard Version)

102 I do not turn aside from your rules,
for you have taught me.
103 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through your precepts I get understanding;
therefore I hate every false way.
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it,
to keep your righteous rules.
107 I am severely afflicted;
give me life, O Lord, according to your word!
108 Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord,
and teach me your rules.
