An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Níl cathair bhuanmharthanach againn anseo; is amhlaidh atáimid ag tnúth le cathair atá le teacht.

Eabhraigh 13:14

D'inis Eoin an Chathair neamhaí:

Siúlóidh na náisiúin timpeall ina solas, agus tabharfaidh ríthe an domhain a nglóir chuici.

Apacailipsis (Taispeántadh) 21:24

Eabhraigh 13 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

11 Is lasmuigh den champa a dhóitear conablaigh na n-ainmhithe a dtugann an t-ardsagart a gcuid fola isteach san Áit Rónaofa in éiric an pheaca.
12 Sin é an fáth ar fhulaing Íosa a pháis lasmuigh den gheata nuair ba mhian leis an pobal a naomhú lena chuid fola féin.
13 Dá bhrí sin, téimis amach as an gcampa chuige agus fulaingímisne an aithis a tugadh dó.
16 Ná déanaigí dearmad ar an maith a dhéanamh agus bhur gcuid a roinnt. Óir tá an saghas sin íobairtí taitneamhach le Dia.
17 Bígí umhal do bhur gceannairí agus tugaigí aird orthu. Tá togha an aireachais á thabhairt acu do bhur n-anamacha mar beidh orthu cuntas a thabhairt ionaibh. Féachaigí chuige gurb ábhar áthais dóibh an cúram sin. Óir más ábhar osnaíola dóibh é ní rachaidh sé sin chun sochair daoibhse.

Apacailipsis (Taispeántadh) 21 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

21 Dhá phéarla dhéag an dá gheata dhéag, agus gach ceann de na geataí d’aon phéarla amháin. Ba ór glan mar ghloine ghlé sráid na cathrach.
22 Ní fhaca mé teampall inti, óir is é an Tiarna Dia Uilechumhachtach, agus an tUan, is teampall aici.
23 Agus ní gá don chathair grian ná gealach chun soilsiú uirthi, mar is í glóir Dé ba sholas di, agus ba é an tUan a lóchrann.
24 Siúlóidh na náisiúin timpeall ina solas, agus tabharfaidh ríthe an domhain a nglóir chuici.
25 Ní dhúnfar a geataí sa lá – agus oíche ní bheidh ansiúd.
26 Tabharfar glóir agus onóir na gciníocha isteach inti.
27 Ní rachaidh aon ní neamhghlan isteach inti go deo, ná aon duine a chleachtann truaillitheacht agus éitheach; ní rachaidh inti ach iad siúd a bhfuil a n-ainm scríofa i leabhar beatha an Uain.

English Standard Version

Here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

Hebrews 13:14 (ESV)

John describes the heavenly city:

By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.

Revelation 21:24 (ESV)

Eabhraigh 13 (English Standard Version)

11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.
12 So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.
13 Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured.
14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.
16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Apacailipsis (Taispeántadh) 21 (English Standard Version)

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass.
22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.
23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
24 By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it,
25 and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there.
26 They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.
27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
