An Bíobla Naofa 1981

Níl aon neach naofa mar an Tiarna – níl aon neach seachas thú – Níl carraig mar ár nDia.

1 Samúéil 2:2

Bíodh bhur muinín as an Tiarna go deo, óir is é an Tiarna an charraig shíoraí.

Íseáia 26:4

1 Samúéil 2 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

1 Ansin ghuigh Hanná mar leanas:
“Tá mórtas croí orm sa Tiarna.
Cuireadh breis le mo neart sa Tiarna.
Tá mo bheola ag déanamh fonóide faoi mo naimhde,
Mar gur lúcháir liom do chumas slánaithe.
2 Níl aon neach naofa mar an Tiarna
– níl aon neach seachas thú –
Níl carraig mar ár nDia.
3 Cuir uait an chaint, an chaint uaibhreach sin.
Ná bíodh sotal ag sceith as do bhéal,
Mar Dia an eolais é an Tiarna
Agus meánn seisean na bearta.
4 Briseadh bogha na dtréan,
Ach chuir an mhuintir lag an neart mar chrios fúthu.
5 Reic an sách é féin ar arán,
Ach tá cothú maith arís ar an seang.
Tá seachtar clainne ag an aimrid,
Ach tá máthair an áil mhóir tréigthe.

Íseáia 26 (An Bíobla Naofa 1981)

1 An lá sin, beidh an laoi seo á ceol ar thalamh Iúdá:
“Tá baile daingean againn;
leag sé amach bábhún agus forbhalla dár ndídean.
2 Osclaígí na geataí! Isteach leis an bpobal fíréanta,
an té a sheasann lena ghealltanas,
3 atá bunúsach ó chroí, a choinníonn an tsíocháin,
óir is asatsa atá a mhuinín.
4 Bíodh bhur muinín as an Tiarna go deo,
óir is é an Tiarna an charraig shíoraí;
5 d’ísligh sé an dream a bhí ina gcónaí ar na harda,
muintir an dúnfoirt daingin,
leagann sé iad, leagann iad ar lár,
caitheann sé síos iad sa láib;
6 cosa na n-úiríseal agus na mbochtán,
siúlann siad orthu ina gcoiscéim.”
7 Is díreach bealach an fhíréin,
réitíonn tú bóthar díreach don fhíréan.

English Standard Version

There is none holy like the Lord; there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.

1 Samuel 2:2

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

Isaiah 26:4

1 Samúéil 2 (English Standard Version)

1 And Hannah prayed and said,
“My heart exults in the Lord;
my strength is exalted in the Lord.
My mouth derides my enemies,
because I rejoice in your salvation.
2 “There is none holy like the Lord;
there is none besides you;
there is no rock like our God.
3 Talk no more so very proudly,
let not arrogance come from your mouth;
for the Lord is a God of knowledge,
and by him actions are weighed.
4 The bows of the mighty are broken,
but the feeble bind on strength.
5 Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread,
but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger.
The barren has borne seven,
but she who has many children is forlorn.

Íseáia 26 (English Standard Version)

1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
“We have a strong city;
he sets up salvation
as walls and bulwarks.
2 Open the gates,
that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in.
3 You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
4 Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
5 For he has humbled
the inhabitants of the height,
the lofty city.
He lays it low, lays it low to the ground,
casts it to the dust.
6 The foot tramples it,
the feet of the poor,
the steps of the needy.”
7 The path of the righteous is level;
you make level the way of the righteous.
