Is leat an lá agus is leat an oíche; is tú a shocraigh an ghrian is an ghealach. Is tú a chinn críocha uile na cruinne; is tú a dhealbhaigh an samhradh is an geimhreadh.

Salm 74:16-17

Nach líonmhar iad d’oibreacha, a Thiarna! rinne tú gach aon ní le heagna; is comhlán an chruinne dá bhfuil déanta agat.

13 Is tú a scoilt an mhuir le do chumhacht
agus a bhris ina mbloghanna cinn na n-arrachtach san uisce.
14 Is tú a rinne conamar de chinn an Leiviatan
gur thug tú ina bhia é do ainmhithe allta an fhásaigh.
15 Is tú a chuir foinsí agus caisí ag brúchtaíl;
is tú a dhiúg na haibhneacha tuilte.
16 Is leat an lá agus is leat an oíche;
is tú a shocraigh an ghrian is an ghealach.
17 Is tú a chinn críocha uile na cruinne;
is tú a dhealbhaigh an samhradh is an geimhreadh.
18 Cuimhnigh, a Thiarna, ar an namhaid fonóideach;
tugann pobal gan chiall tarcaisne do d’ainm.
19 Ná tabhair anam do choilm don bhadhbh, a Thiarna;
ná déan dearmad go deo ar anam na mbocht.
20 Tabhair aire do do chonradh óir is lomlán d’éigean
uaimheanna agus diamhra uile na tíre.

21 Na coileáin leoin ag búiríl chun a gcreiche,
is iad ag éileamh a gcoda ar Dhia.
22 Bailíonn siad leo le héirí na gréine,
go dtéann siad ina luí ina bpluaiseanna.
23 Gabhann an duine amach chun a oibre
ag saothrú leis go dtí an tráthnóna.
24 Nach líonmhar iad d’oibreacha, a Thiarna!
rinne tú gach aon ní le heagna;
is comhlán an chruinne dá bhfuil déanta agat.
25 Féach an fharraige is í ar leathadh go fairsing
is ag cur thar maoil le créatúir gan áireamh,
dúile beo, idir bheag agus mhór.
26 Is uirthi a sheolann an loingeas;
agus an Leiviatan a rinne tú le bheith ag súgradh inti.
27 Bíonn siad siúd go léir ag brath ort;
chun iad a bheathú in am trátha.

15 You split open springs and brooks;
you dried up ever-flowing streams.
16 Yours is the day, yours also the night;
you have established the heavenly lights and the sun.
17 You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth;
you have made summer and winter.
18 Remember this, O Lord, how the enemy scoffs,
and a foolish people reviles your name.
19 Do not deliver the soul of your dove to the wild beasts;
do not forget the life of your poor forever.
20 Have regard for the covenant,
for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.

21 The young lions roar for their prey,
seeking their food from God.
22 When the sun rises, they steal away
and lie down in their dens.
23 Man goes out to his work
and to his labor until the evening.
24 O Lord, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
25 Here is the sea, great and wide,
which teems with creatures innumerable,
living things both small and great.
26 There go the ships,
and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it.
27 These all look to you,
to give them their food in due season.
